How does the dongle protect the application?
Solution:
When a protected
application is run on a system, it will search the computer's I/O ports for a
hardware key. If the key is attached it will communicate to the software,
alerting it of its presence. Without the key, the software application would
receive a specific error. It is primarily up to the developer to determine what
sort of action to take when this error occurs (ie. Software won't run, software
runs in a limited mode).
